Euro 2020 LIVE: France OUT on penalties, England vs Germany build-up, Belgium BEAT Portugal to set up Italy clash

GOOD MORNING EUROS FANS

World champions France were dumped out of the Euros last night with a penalty shootout defeat to Switzerland.

The French were 3-1 up with just ten minutes left when they conceded twice.

And with extra time finishing 3-3, the Swiss ended up winning 5-4 on penalties after Kylian Mbappe missed the decisive spot kick.

Switzerland will now play Spain in the quarters, who beat Croatia 5-3 after also conceding two late goals to send the match to extra time.

But Alvaro Morata and Mikel Oyarzabal’s quick-fire double ensured their team booked their flight to St Petersburg for Friday’s encounter.

Elsewhere, England star Kyle Walker is gunning for Manchester City team-mate Ilkay Gundogan and Chelsea’s German contingent.

The ace is set to line up in a five-man defence tonight as Gareth Southgate looks to reach the quarters.

Walker said: “It gives you that little bit of knowledge that you need when you’re coming up against these world-class players that they are.

“Obviously I play with Gundo at City so I know what he’s about. I know what his strengths, his weaknesses are.

“I played a lot against a lot of them in the Champions League final, so hopefully we can just go and do the nation proud.”

England could also face a Germany side missing THREE of their key players.

Joachim Low has revealed that Gundogan, Antonio Rudiger and Robin Gosens are doubts for the crunch clash at Wembley.

Finally, Belgium could be without star men Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard for their Euro 2020 quarter-final with Italy.

The pair, both 30, suffered ankle and hamstring injuries respectively in the Red Devils’ victory over Portugal on Sunday night.
