“We’re all in this together” says the European Commissioner for Health, Stella Kyriakides. This as she calls on EU member states to take “immediate measures” to prevent the spread of Covid-19 to avoid new full lockdowns.

“It was important that we make this call because this could be our last chance to really contain the spread of the pandemic, which as we see is now causing different difficulties in a number of member states,” she explains.

Just this week, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) released its latest risk assessment for the coronavirus pandemic, stressing that seven member states are particularly giving cause for concern: Spain, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Czech Republic and Malta.
