WELCOME FROM WEMBLEY
The day has finally arrived!
England take on Germany tonight in a Euro 2020 Last 16 tie that the whole world will be watching.
Wembley Stadium plays host – just like it memorably did in 1966 and 1996.
And 45,000 rabid Three Lions fans will be watching from the stands when we kick off at 5pm.
It’s either Sweden or Ukraine up next in the quarter-final for the winner.
The tournament has been blown WIDE OPEN with world champs France and holders Portugal crashing out in successive nights at the Last 16 stage this week.
Like France vs Switzerland last night, tonight’s battle will go to extra-time and penalties if the score is level.
England boss Gareth Southgate said: “The game is probably worthy of more than the second round stage.
“But then so is Belgium against Portugal and one or two others.
“It’s a great opportunity for this team to make some history and give people memories of England-Germany fixtures for the future, that are a little different to some of the ones they’ve been flooded with over the last few days which mean absolutely nothing to them because they weren’t born.”
