The Ashes is set to begin next week that will see England battle Australia for the famous terracotta urn.

And ahead of the cricket series, England’s Test Captain Joe Root was seen out and about in Brisbane with his glamorous wife Carrie.

The pair, who tied the knot in 2018, enjoyed a walk in the rain on Tuesday after completing two-weeks of mandatory hotel quarantine amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Joe, 30, kept things casual in a pair of navy shorts and a dark jumper, which he teamed with a pair of thongs.

Carrie meanwhile looked nothing short of chic in a pair of light high-waisted jeans, a white T-shirt and a black leather jacket.

She wore her long blonde locks out and over her shoulders, neatly straightened, and appeared to be makeup free.

The pair appeared to bring the infamous British weather with them as they went for a walk in the rain.

Also being seen going for a stroll were the likes of British cricketers Dawid Malan and Chris Woakes.

Retired cricketer James Taylor was also seen out and about ahead of the first match

The first test in the Ashes series begins on December 8, or next Wednesday.

Aussie Cricketer Pat Cummins was recently announced as the new Test Caption for Australia, replacing Tim Paine, 36, in the wake of his sexting scandal.

Paine last week said he would be taking a leave of absence from all forms of cricket ‘for the foreseeable future’ after his indiscretion made headlines.

He was stood down as Test captain after confirming he sent sexual messages and a photo of his genitals to Cricket Tasmania staffer Renee Ferguson, 47, in 2017.

His wife, Bonnie Paine, has vowed to stand by her husband.
