EASTENDERS fans were left gobsmacked after discovering Honey Mitchell’s real name.
The character, played by Emma Barton, has been on the BBC soap for thirteen years, but was only called by her birth name last night.
The incident occurred when Honey’s new love interest Ryan tried to get her attention while she checked her phone.
In a bid to distract her, the dentist called her Susan rather than her nickname, to the shock of viewers at home.
One wrote in confusion: “Why does that dentist guy in eastenders keep calling ‘honey’ Susan???”
While others added: “Well Honey is actually Susan! mind blown” and “Since when has “honey” from eastenders been called Susan? I thought I was going crazy…”
Another shared a funny meme of multiple EastEnders characters looking shocked, with the caption: “When you’ve watched @bbceastenders for as long as you can remember but you’re only just finding out Honey is actually really called Susan….”
As others said in shock: “Excuse me, when did we find out Honeys name is actually Susan bcause I feel like I’ve had my world turned upside down with this news”
And: “I’m still not use to Honey’s real name being Susan.”
Honey caught the attention of viewers last week, when the soap appeared to dub her voice into a “badly edited” scene.
The incident saw the camera remain on Billy, who was trying to win her back with a romantic dinner, but heard Honey shriek in a voice wildly different to hers.
Viewers were quick to slam the scene on Twitter, writing: “Sorry, was that honey shouting while running off??? Worst bit of editing I’ve ever seen!! #Eastenders.”
And: “Wow that dubbing was shocking!! #EastEnders”.
