DRAMATIC footage shows a venomous rattlesnake swimming towards a boat filled with screaming children before hopping onboard.
Wayne Robbins posted the video on Instagram after his family’s close encounter on July 15 with the slippery reptile in North Carolina.
He titled clip “Uninvited rattlesnake boards our boat on Fontana Lake.”
The blood-curdling cries of the Wayne’s daughter Kathleen, 14, who filmed the incident, can heard as the fanged beast cuts through the water at speed.
As the timber rattlesnake jumps on to the boat, the brave father is seen moving over to confront it.
However, the reptile quickly dives back into the water.
Wayne, who hails from Knoxville, Tennessee, told the Charlotte Observer yesterday that he was ready to kick the snake in order to protect his kids.
He said: “I was going to whack him. He was a pretty smart snake. He knew he wasn’t wanted.”
The family were attending the Adventure Amputee Camp’s summer camp when the incident happened.
