THIS is the shocking moment hero diners thwart an attempted kidnap as an abductor attempted to snatch a girl, 4, from her mum.
Police have arrested the man after horrific video emerged of the incident in Florida near Johannesburg, South Africa.
Footage taken from a security camera at the Bella Napoli pizza restaurant in shows the child, her mum and another woman sitting on the patio.
Suddenly, a man comes into view at the top of the frame and leaps over the railings into the dining area.
He dashes towards the table and uses both hands to grab the little girl around her head and neck.
One of the women lunges forward over the table to protect the child as the man attempts to pull her away from the table.
A hero diner – since named as martial artist Dishal Sooku – then steps up and grapples with the man.
He puts the twisted child snatcher in a headlock as he refuses to let go of the child.
The suspect then forcefully yanks the child, pulling the woman holding onto her across the table into the scuffle.
Another diner in a white shirt then also joins in the melee to try and fight off the abductor.
The man in the black shirt can be seen pulling the suspect back and forth as he attempts to make him let go of the child.
He then takes him down the floor in the struggle, putting him body scissors with his legs so he cannot escape.
Security eventually arrive on the scene and detain the kidnapper, helping the hero to his feet after the scuffle.
Further footage shows the suspect laying detained on the floor outside the restaurant as he shouts at bystanders.
He can be seen with a bloody nose as he is filmed by a number of people while laying beside the railings he had vaulted over moments before.
At one point he loudly screams and appears to be talking to himself as he lays on the pavement.
A getaway vehicle reportedly also fled the scene and the suspect is said to be a heavy drug user, reports SA People.
One witness told Ridge Times: “He was walking along the street banging on cars. Then he just started running up to the girl.
“It didn’t look like he was trying to take her, he was really trying to hurt her. His eyes were dead.”
South African private investigator Wendy Pascoe claimed the man had been involved in a assault before the kidnap attempt.
Cops confirmed the incident and said the suspect, 24, had been arrested and was due to appear Roodepoort magistrate’s court on Friday.
Captain Kay Makhubela said: “The complainant was at the Pizza Shop in Florida with her four-year-old child when an unknown male came and grabbed the child by her neck as if he wanted to take her.
“The mother and the child screamed and with the help of the shop owner and the community the suspect was apprehended.”
Mr Sooku has since been celebrated as a hero for his actions as he was named on social media.
A post with his picture by page SA Long Distance Truckers has been shared almost 6,000 times.
It said: “Dishal you sir are a hero and a man in a million. Your act of bravery has not gone unnoticed. We wish you all thats good in this world.”
