In July, Drake – real name Jared Bell – was sentenced to two years probation for crimes against a child.

During the hearing, the victim who is now 19, said in her victim impact statement that the actor groomed her via text messages and forced her to perform sex acts on him.

But Drake took to Instagram to refute many of the accusations against him.

“A lot of the news that you’ve been hearing, most of the news that you’ve hard recently, is entirely false and wrong, and I feel that you deserve and I owe you an explanation,” he started the video.

Drake went on to say: “I know that this has moved very quickly for you, but for me it’s been a three-year thorough investigation into every false claim that has been made, and it’s not me telling you that the claims are false, but the state of Ohio has proven the claims to be false.

“If these claims were remotely true, my situation would be very different, and I would not be here at home with my wife and my son.

“But that being said, I’m not perfect, and I made mistakes. I responded to a fan whose age I didn’t know … yet when I became aware of their age, all conversation and communication stopped.”

The Drake & Josh continued: “And this individual continued to come to shows and pay for meet and greets, all while I was unaware that this was the same person that I was communicating with online. And, uh, and that’s what I pled guilty to. You know, I … it was reckless and irresponsible text messages.”

He then denied he had any physical contact with the victim.

“I wanna make clear that there were no sexual images, nothing physical between me and this individual. I was not charged with anything physical,” Drake said.

“I was not charged with disseminating photographs or images or anything like that.

“This is strictly over text messages, and when I was presented with a plea deal, because of the messages, I felt that it was the best way to get this over quickly and for everybody involved to get to move on.”

Drake wrapped up the video saying he wanted “to get back doing what I love”, which was making music for his fans.

“And I want to thank you … to everyone who saw through the lies and did their research and looked at my case and saw it for what it was instead of all this media confusion,” he added.

“And, you know, don’t believe the media right off the bat, you know, it’s a lot of clickbait. Do your own research and come top your own conclusions. And I just want to say thank you to all of you … for sticking by me. And I love you. And I will see you soon.”

He also explained that even though it was his new social media handle, he had not changed his name to Drake Campana.

On top of probation, the former Nickelodeon star was also sentenced to 200 hours of community service.

During her victim impact statement, the victim seemed to introduce new details – including allegations of sexual contact – claims that appeared to surprise Drake upon hearing them.

“Don’t look at me like that!” the unnamed reportedly woman yelled at the TV star, 35, after he seemed to shake his head at the claims that allegedly occurred when the victim was 15 years old.

She said: “… I idolized and looked up to him. He was calculating, he preyed on me and he sexually abused me. He is a monster and a danger to children…

“And he can give me that look all he wants but he knows exactly what I’m talking about. My suffering is not for him to brag about or use as leverage about how he’s become a good person now that he’s a father.”

The woman’s statement continued: “My life hasn’t been the same since I was 15. I think about these crimes every single day.

“I feel like I’m in a constant dark place. Sometimes I wish I could disappear so I can forget about what happened.”

She then claimed: “Jared Drake Bell is a pedophile, and that is his legacy.”

During his sentencing, Drake spoke and said: “Today I accept this plea because my conduct was wrong. I’m sorry that the victim was harmed in any way — that was obviously not my intention.
