Destroy All Humans 2 remake video leaked by Sony

Destroy All Humans 2 – it’s back, for some reason (pic: Twitter)

Sony has accidentally leaked the reveal trailer for Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed but despite initial signs it’s not PS5 only.

2005’s Destroy All Humans is not the sort of game you would’ve expected to get a full remake but while the original was never regarded as any kind of classic it was recreated for modern formats in 2020 and now its sequel is apparently following suite.

We say apparently because there’s been no official announcement from THQ Nordic, but instead a tweet from Sony which they quickly deleted once they realised they’d published it too early.

There was a video attached as well though and that’s still live, at least at time of writing, which means either the official reveal is imminent or Sony doesn’t realise everyone can still see it.

The remake is no surprise, as THQ Nordic already teased it a few months ago, but what is odd is that the tweet appears to imply that it’s a PlayStation 5 exclusive.

It seems extremely unlikely that Sony would make the remake an exclusive but if you look at the small print at the end of the trailer it does say the footage is from the PlayStation 4 version, so it’s in reality it’s probably multiformat.

There was a third game, released in 2008, and a Wii spin-off, so it remains to be seen if THQ Nordic are going to remake those as well, even though they effectively killed off the franchise back in the naughties.

Presumably all this is leading up to a brand new game but that hasn’t been confirmed yet and it’s hard to imagine it’ll be coming out soon if this second remake is only just being (unofficially) announced.
