Denise Welch hosts bash for former Corrie co-stars 21 years after she quit

Denise Welch reunited with four of her former Coronation Street co-stars, more than two decades after she left the soap.

At first glance you could be forgiven for thinking that the Rovers Return had a secret leafy beer garden – which would be the best-kept secret in Weatherfield.

The Loose Women star, 63, posted a boomerang to social media which showed her enjoying an al fresco bop with Sally Dynevor, Nikki Sanderson, Jane Danson, and Angela Lonsdale.

Denise told fans: “Not quite lunch on the cobbles but on the paving stones!!!

“Friends for 24 yrs (30 for Ang and me) and still never a pause for breath!! Gorgeous day.”

On the left of the group was Sally, 58, who has played Sally Webster since 1986.

Next was Denise, looking radiant in a patterned pair of trousers and bright coloured jumper.

In the middle was Angela, who played Emma Taylor on the ITV soap between 2000 and 2003.

Next was Nikki, 37, who was hairdresser Candice Stowe between 1999 and 2005.

She currently stars in Hollyoaks as Maxine Minniver, the daughter of Denise’s character Trish.

At the end of the line-up was 42-year-old Jane, who looked chic in a maxi skirt, simple T-shirt and jacket.

Jane is still in the soap as Leanne Battersby, a character which entered the soap in 1997 as part of an iconic soap family led by patriarch Les and battleaxe mum Janice.

Her latest foray in to nightly dramas saw her catapulted to pop-culture A-list status after her character was at the heart of a storyline involving dancing reality stars AJ and Curtis Pritchard.
