Inter Miami are keen on signing former Manchester United star Ashley Young should he leave Inter Milan this summer, according to reports.

After almost nine years in Manchester, Young left Old Trafford in January 2020 to join Antonio Conte’s Inter, who scooped their first Scudetto since 2011 last weekend.

However, the 35-year-old is out of contract this summer and is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal to extend his stay at San Siro.

Young has been linked with a move back to former club Watford, and according to the Sun, Inter Miami are ready to compete with the Hornets for the veteran defender on a free transfer.

The MLS side, co-owned by United legend Beckham, have already recruited plenty of talent including Gonzalo Higuain, Blaise Matuidi and Phil Neville as boss.

When addressing his future earlier this week, Young admitted he is remaining calm over his situation at Inter, and would have to make a ‘difficult decision’ should Watford come calling.

‘There have been talks [with Inter],’ Young told Sky Sports. ‘I have had an unbelievable time at Inter, if there is something to be done I’m sure a deal can be sorted out.

‘It’s a waiting game because everyone is in a pandemic, we don’t know where finances are.

‘I am chilled and laid back, I am enjoying my football, we’ve just won the league. We’ve got four games left, four to win, that’s all my focus is on.

‘There can be a lot of factors involved in the decision. I will make sure it is the right decision for me and my family.’

‘I’ve never said I wouldn’t go back [to Watford],’ he added. ‘It’s the club where I started at 10 years old but right now there is nothing. My representatives have not spoken to me about it.

‘It would be a difficult decision to make.’
