Actor Kel Mitchell, 41, was the show’s runner-up, followed by pop star Ally Brooke, 26, and country singer Lauren Alaina, 25.
‘The winners and champions of Dancing With The Stars are Hannah and Alan!’ announced host Tom Bergeron, 64, as Hannah and her partner Alan Bersten, both 25, looked stunned.

Then she jumped into his arms and they spun around in circles and screamed in joy.
‘We only have 30 seconds,’ Tom asked the thrilled duo. ‘How did that feel?’
‘I don’t even know what’s happening!’ Alan cried, as confetti rained down on them.
‘Thank you everyone!,’ Hannah exclaimed as she was handed the glittering trophy.

Judge Carrie Ann Inaba, 51, had previously called season 28 the show’s tightest race ever, and the remaining four contestants proved her right.
Each of them was tasked with revisiting a favorite dance and performing a freestyle, and they earned nearly identical scores.
After all dances, Ally’s sensational routines topped the leaderboard with 60 points, while Kel followed with 59, Hannah fell into third with 58, and Lauren came last with 57.

Hannah had endured an especially tough time on DWTS, coming in on the heels of a breakup following her stint on The Bachelorette earlier this year.
The former Miss Alabama USA had broken down several times on the show, especially after being critiqued by Carrie Ann, who compared her dances to cheerleading, and urged her to open up.
They shared a cathartic moment last week that led to a breakthrough for Hannah this week, with the pageant queen earning her first perfect score.

‘There’s a lot more to me than being a girl who hands out roses every week,’ she told Alan.
‘I’m honestly grateful for the journey not being easy, because I learned a lot about myself,’ she added.
The couple’s first dance was a Viennese waltz to Tayor Swift’s Lover, which Carrie Ann called their ‘best dance of the season,’ though it earned just 28 points.

‘There’s something so magical about what you just did,’ Carrie Ann told Hannah. ‘You just have a lightness, and an ease of motion that I haven’t seen from you.’
Backstage, Hannah told co-host Erin Andrews, 41, that the dance had been the first time she’d been able to let go and stop focusing on the steps.
‘I think right now is the best moment that I’ve had and it’s coming at the perfect time,’ Hannah related. ‘I’m just thankful, and all the stress is really gone, and I’m just dancing.’
High praise: Carrie Ann gushed about Hannah’s first dance and called it ‘magical’
Erin then revealed to Hannah that Alan had been ‘in full tears’ before the show.
‘This has been the most exceptional experience that I’ve ever experienced,’ Alan explained to her. ‘I’m so grateful for such an amazing partner, and someone who believed in me. I am so honored that I could take you on this journey.’
Hannah later returned the favor, saying: ‘This experience came a time in my life where I wasn’t ready, and didn’t feel like I could trust people. But working with you has allowed me to trust somebody again, and that is just as rewarding as getting the steps right and having great scores.’
Trusting again: Hannah admitted she had trust issues after her experience on The Bachelorette, but credited Alan for allowing her to trust somebody again
Floral dress: Show co-host Erin Andres looked lovely in a long floral print dress
‘Let’s freaking win this thing,’ she told Alan. ‘Going out with a bang!’
Hannah showed off some of her best moves in a sexy freestyle to Alicia Keys’ Girl On Fire and Gwen Stefani’s Hollaback Girl, which featured her in silhouette and against a wall of flames.
She made jaws drop by doing a sideways somersault off Alan’s shoulders, then proved her critics wrong by incorporating a cheerleading flavor into her routine.

Judge Len Goodman, 75, was wowed by her attack, saying: ‘That caught me so unawares.’
‘Hannah Brown,’ Carrie Ann declared, ‘You are living your best life. The word that comes to mind: That was a victorious freestyle.’
They got three 10s, marking their first perfect score of the season.

Hannah also broke news with an appearance she made during a commercial break.
ABC shared a first look at the upcoming season of The Bachelor, which found pilot Peter Weber, 28, looking like Tom Cruise in Top Gun and romancing dozens of women.
Then Hannah showed up on the show, revisiting Peter after they’d dated and he’d come in third on last season of The Bachelorette.

‘I’m so confused right now,’ Peter said, as they sat in a dark room. ‘What are you doing here?’
‘Making decisions for my heart,’ Hannah replied. ‘Because I know that there’s still something there. And I would do anything for a relationship.’
‘Hannah Brown,’ the pilot noted, moving his face close to hers, ‘What I’m about to say is extremely crazy. What would you say if I asked you to come be part of the house?’
Surprise visit: The Bachelor star Peter Weber was surprised by Hannah in the preview and invited her to join the show
The commercial faded to black with a shot of the other female contestants screaming.
‘Well, that’s an interesting twist,’ Erin said to Hannah backstage. ‘I gotta ask, third time the charm, or you just love [Bachelor host] Chris Harrison that much?’
‘I do love Chris Harrison,’ Hannah deflected, laughing. ‘But I love being here.’
Nice try: Erin asked Hannah about the twist in The Bachelor preview, but she nimbly deflected
For much of the show, Ally and Sasha Farber, 35, seemed like they might win the Mirrorball Trophy.
She and her partner got the night started with a jive to Tina Turner’s Proud Mary, which recalled her ‘breakout’ moment with the dance just weeks before.
But judge Bruno Tonioli, celebrating his 64th birthday, said he loved Ally’s enthusiastic jive, which she kicked off by singing the first notes of the song.

‘That’s how you start a show on top, dear!’ he raved. ‘Full throttle, going for maximum effect, and let me tell you: You succeeded on every level.’
His fellow judges agreed with him, giving her three 10s once again.
Ally followed that up with an explosive Latin freestyle to Miami Sound Machine’s Conga, soaring high as Sasha lifted her toward the sky before going shirtless.

Afterward, Tom gave Sasha his jacket, and the crowd erupted in cheers, with Bruno crying: ‘Unleash the star power! What is this, Jennifer Lopez in Vegas? I mean, you killed it.’
‘I can’t close my mouth,’ Carrie Ann revealed. ‘As you were dancing I was like, ”Shut up! No, shut up! No, shut up!”’
‘I have seen every single freestyle in the history of Dancing With The Stars,’ she noted. ‘I have never seen anything like that.’

When Erin asked Ally how the dance felt, the singer began to cry, saying, ‘I really can’t put an adjective on it.’
‘It’s something that transformed me, my heart and my confidence; it’s been the most beautiful experience of my life.’
The judges gave her 30 points again, and Sasha jumped up and down as the entire crowd stood and applauded the score.

During a break, singer Lionel Richie announced that Layla Spring, 17, was getting American Idol’s Golden Ticket back to Hollywood, per last night’s competition on the American Music Awards.
Kel and Witney Carson, 26, also gave Hannah a run for her money.

The duo chose a jazz routine to We’re All in this Together from High School Musical, which had previously earned them a perfect score.
It worked a second time, too, with the couple receiving 30 points for it.
After their routine, Carrie Ann praised Kel’s talent, saying: ‘You make everything look so easy, but you’re so spot-on with every single delivery of your movements.’
Great effort: Kel and Witney Carson, 26, also gave Hannah a run for her money
Kel and Witney’s propulsive freestyle, to Kris Kross’ Jump, married street style, hip-hop, and old-school breakdancing moves, all performed perfectly at a breakneck pace.
‘Holy crap!’ Tom exclaimed afterward, as the crowd went crazy.
‘What a ride, and what a night,’ Bruno said. ‘That final acceleration, the tempo, the choreography, the atmosphere you created really was exhilarating. You brought the house down.’

‘My inner Fly Girl right now is so happy,’ said Carrie Ann, a former dancer on the TV show In Living Color, which ran from 1990 to 1993. ‘You represented, you gave us an education out here!’
Len started to critique the duo, but the crowd booed him down, with season three DWTS champion and football star Emmitt Smith even throwing a few words at him.
Kel and Witney earned 29 points, including a nine from Len.

Finally, Lauren and Gleb Savchenko, 36, picked a foxtrot to Dolly Parton’s Jolene as their repeat dance, which earned them a standing ovation.
After her first dance, Carrie Ann asked Lauren if she was okay, concerned that she had been holding back during the performance—though Len approved, saying: ‘Well done.’
As he spoke, a raft of flowers in front of the judges’ table fell down, forcing Lauren to put her hand on them and lean in closer to hear his assessment, and their score: 27 points.

Their countrified freestyle, to Luke Bryan’s Country Girl (Shake It For Me) featured line dancing, cartwheels, in-air spinning, and Lauren belting on the microphone.
‘This was the perfect freestyle for you,’ Carrie Ann affirmed. ‘What a celebration. You brought the Southern charm, you were loose, you were relaxed. I just want to tell you: I adore you.’

Their total for the night was 57.

Queer Eye’s Karamo Brown, 36, flashed everyone his T-shirt, which said, Black, Gay & Gifted.

And country singer Reba McEntire told Lauren she was excited for her, adding: ‘We need a Mirrorball to come back here to Nashville. I love you. Go dance your little butt off.’
Tom then announced the winners, and Hannah jumped into Alan’s arms, and screamed.
