Dame Judi Dench has shared a brilliant anecdote about the first time she met Morgan Freeman – when he introduced her to his ‘three wives’.

The actress, 85, and her daughter Finty Williams, 48, appeared on That Gaby Roslin Podcast, where they shared the moment they first met Morgan Freeman.

Gaby admitted: ‘Morgan Freeman is one of those people on my list that I think I would go a little bit silly over.’

Finty told the host that Morgan, 83, was ‘beautiful’, while Judi added: ‘Yes, I’m afraid so.’

Revealing their epic first meeting, Judi explained: ‘He came and knelt down once, we were having a drink at the Four Seasons and he came and knelt down and said hello to us.

‘He was there with three ladies, and we introduced… he said “How do you do, how do you do – and these are my wives!” He was beautiful.’

She and Finty also revealed that their garden is full of trees which they have planted in honour of dead friends and family members.

‘My garden is full of trees that are all planted to friends who have died,’ she said. ‘They have their names on wooden plaques – the whole garden is full of friends.
