Cyberpunk 2077 makers CD PROJEKT RED speak out on shock Nintendo Switch port

[ad_1]

Cyberpunk 2077 makers CD PROJEKT RED have spoken out on whether the Nintendo Switch will be getting a port of the hugely anticipated title.

Cyberpunk 2077 is coming next year to the PS4, Xbox One, PCs and Google Stadia.

The latest title from The Witcher 3 makers has wowed gamers at the last two E3s, arguably stealing the show at both events.

Cyberpunk 2077 boasts truly stunning graphics that many thought would only be possible on the next-gen.

But somehow CD PROJEKT RED has managed to produce these jaw-dropping visuals on the current gen.

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most highly sought after games coming in 2020, and now the devs have spoken out on whether it could land on the Switch too.

In a post on GameSpot, CD PROJEKT RED’s John Mamais spoke about the possibility of a Switch version of Cyberpunk.

Mamais said: “Who would have thought a game like The Witcher 3 would be possible on Switch, so who knows?

“I guess we’ll see, if we decide to put it on the Switch, if we can do it. Probably not.”

Whether a version of Cyberpunk 2077 actually ends up on the Nintendo Switch remains to be seen.

If it does it undoubtedly would be a paired down version, with CD PROJEKT RED’s other hit Witcher 3 having less intensive visuals on the Switch.

However, Switch fans will be getting the “full” Witcher 3 experience when the critically acclaimed title hits Nintendo’s hybrid console.

Speaking to Nintendo Life, CD Projekt Red UI Coordinator Alvin Liu previously said: “You’ll get the full Witcher 3 and all expansions.

“We’re not really cutting anything”.

In other Cyberpunk 2077 news a surprise prediction has been made about the release of the hugely anticipated title.

Despite the huge amount of hype surrounding Cyberpunk 2077 it’s been claimed that some members in the industry are predicting a big sales shock.

The news comes courtesy of Dr Serkan Toto, who is the CEO of Tokyo-based games industry consultancy Kantan Games.

Toto has claimed some investors who have been following CD PROJEKT RED’s stock market performance have made big claims about Cyberpunk’s future sales.

At the start of the month he tweeted: “The dev behind Witcher 3, CD Projekt Red, is listed at the stock exchange in Poland under CDR (WSE).

“There is a group of investors out there that bets their next game (Cyberpunk 2077) is overhyped and won’t reach the 25-30 million sales threshold some people in finance project.”

Toto then added: “I thought that is interesting.

“By comparison (apples vs oranges – useful for reference to some extent).

“RDR 2: 25 million across all platforms.

“Witcher 3: 20 million (ditto)”.

It remains to be seen whether Cyberpunk 2077 does end up hitting the predicted sales figures or falling short of the alleged targets.

Either way, Cyberpunk 2077 looks set to be a spectacular title that could be many people’s picks for Game of the Year come the end of 2020.
