Premier League transfer rumours: Newcastle set sights on Chris Wood

Cristiano Ronaldo is frustrated with the Manchester United board for their ‘erratic sporting decisions’, according to reports.

Ralf Rangnick’s appointment was widely met with positivity following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but the fact the Old Trafford hierarchy gave the German the job on an interim basis has been criticised.

It remains to be seen who will be the next permanent United manager and what role Rangnick will play at the club moving forward with reports he would take on a consultancy position, something that was disputed by the 63-year-old.

On the pitch, there is plenty of uncertainty too.

The Red Devils’ form has not improved under Rangnick as they suffered a 1-0 defeat by Wolves last time out as the players struggle to adapt to his style of football.

Ronaldo has been the silver lining of a dismal season following his arrival in the summer, scoring 14 of his side’s 29 goals across all competitions.

But Catalan publication Sport reports that he is fed up with United’s board for what he perceives to be ‘erratic sporting decisions’.

It’s also claimed the Portugal star is “disillusioned” with Rangnick’s tactics and philosophy as the Man United star held crisis talks with agent Jorge Mendes over his future at Old Trafford.

Mendes reportedly touched down in Manchester to speak with his client to see how they can rectify the situation.

Ronaldo is allegedly ‘feeling the pressure’ and is worried that United are not capable of winning silverware.

A source close to Ronaldo told The Sun: “Cristiano is very concerned about what is happening at United. The team is receiving a lot of criticism and he knows he is regarded as one of the leaders.

“There are quite a lot of problems and Cristiano is feeling the pressure and is very stressed by the situation.

“He desperately wants his United move to be a success, but he is starting to recognise that winning trophies with the current set-up could be a real struggle.

“Jorge came to see him and they spent time chatting through how things are going, what they think are the problems, how they might be solved and what the solutions may be. Nothing has been ruled out.”

Man Utd suffered a disappointing defeat against Wolves

Former United midfielder Paul Ince is worried about the club’s long-term strategy as confusion continues to linger behind the scenes under the Glazers.

He told Mirror Football: “Once again there is no transparency in what’s going on at Old Trafford.

“I’m not sure what the board are doing, I’m not sure what Ed Woodward is doing.

“They’ve gone sacking Solskajer to pursuing Pochettino, but that didn’t manifest itself.

“There’s an interim manager now until the end of the season. The question I would ask is ‘are they looking for someone else at the end of the season?’

“Rangnick comes out and says he could stay for 18 months, but he’s only meant to be there for six months.”
