Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent is reportedly in talks with Paris-Saint Germain as speculation ramps up of a shock summer transfer for the Juventus ace.
But there is talk the Portuguese superstar may be considering a move away from Turin after it was reported that his agent is in talks with PSG sporting director Leonardo.
But the French publication also cites information from Foot Mercato claiming the two will be discussing Ronaldo’s future as well.
Ronaldo won four Champions League titles with Real Madrid and one with Manchester United, but has been criticised in some quarters for so far having failed to deliver Europe’s biggest club prize to Juventus.
While such criticism may seem unfair, it is feasible that Ronaldo could be weighing up his options following Juve’s elimination this week, which saw Maurizio Sarri sacked and replaced as manager by Andrea Pirlo.
PSG have made the quarter-finals of this year’s competition, and face Atalanta on Wednesday for a place in the last four.
And with a dream frontline of Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar they would be a fearsome prospect next season.
According to France Football, his frustrations seemed to boil over in November of last year when Juventus secured a late win at Lokomotiv Moscow.
It was a below par performance in which the five-time Ballon D’or winner failed to find the back of the net or provide for a team-mate.
Ronaldo’s global brand would have appealed to PSG’s Qatari owners, who have cashed in off the pitch as well as on it as they turn the French side into a worldwide powerhouse.
But any transfer for Ronaldo would cost an eye-watering sum, and even with PSG’s riches, the global pandemic has impacted massively on club finances, making a summer transfer seem unlikely.
