It was already a
growing trend – 3.6% of the electorate registered for a postal vote in 2003, then 11.2% in 2007, 14.1% in 2011, and 17.7% in 2016 – and surveys suggest more Scots than ever will want to take the socially-distant option to cast their vote in 2021.
