COVID – 19: Gov Masari Takes Key Measures To Avoid Spread


Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State has taken some drastic measures in order to control the spread of Corona Virus into the state.

The Governor, who in a state broadcast, said the wide spread on the virus from China to the whole world and in Nigeria with about 27 persons infected, has become necessary to take serious decisions to curb the virus into the state.

He therefore said government through the ministry of health has positioned its personnel to pay special attention to any individual who present with feature suggestive of Corona Virus disease, urging residents in the state to report any of their beloved who return from foreign trip for screening and should not be shy about it.

As part of measure, Governor Masari also directed all big shop owners in the state to obtained basic facilities for screening and sanitising their costumers hands before attending to, warning that security personnel will be asked go roound and ensure compliance to the directive.

He noted that “Government “will build emergency infectious disease ward in General Amadi Rimi Specialist Hospital (GARSH) in addition to the temporary isolation center at the general hospital, katsina”

“Our hospitals are better positioned with the basic requirement that shall include; Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other supportive commodities to handle any eventuality should a confirmed case be identified.”

The Governor urged residents in the state and Nigeria at large to also turn to God and seek forgiveness to their sins which according to him is the only solution to get rid of the pendemic.
