Conor McGregor 'denies sexual assault claims' after allegations in France



Conor McGregor has been questioned over an alleged attempted sexual assault and alleged indecent exposure.

According to the AFP news agency, the 32-year-old was arrested and taken into custody following an incident in a bar in France, reports The Mirror.

A statement from the prosecutor said: “Following a complaint filed on September 10 denouncing acts that could be described as attempted sexual assault and sexual exhibition, Mr. Conor Anthony Mac Gregor [sic] was the subject of a hearing by the police.”

McGregor is over in France training for a 180km voyage, which he was scheduled to start today with Princess Charlene of Monaco.

The event was organised to raise awareness about water safety.

But McGregor was forced to withdraw following his arrest.

Representatives of the former UFC star say that McGregor denies the accusations made against him.

They said: “Conor McGregor vigorously denies any accusations of misconduct. He has been interviewed and released.”

The Irishman has not fought since he beat Donald Cerrone inside 40 seconds in January.

His plans to fight three times this year were shattered by the coronavirus crisis and he retired in June for the third time in four years.

But he had hinted at a return this week when it emerged he install in the ISADA testing pool and was required to take a drug test while on his £3million yacht.
