Chris Hughes has proved there’s no bad blood between him and his ex-girlfriend Jesy Nelson, as he threw his support behind the singer on the launch of Little Mix’s new show.

Jesy and her bandmates – Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock – are looking for the next big band and have created their own show to rival the likes of The X Factor to help them find it.

The series launched on Saturday night, with the girls explaining they are hoping to create a group to go on tour with them and have whittled their search down to six different band types.

Fans first saw the girls auditioning for a new boyband, with Sunday night’s show showing off the contestants hoping to land a spot in the mixed group.

Tuning in from the comfort of his own sofa, Chris made sure to watch his former flame in action and hailed Little Mix: The Search as a ‘sick show’.

Sharing a short clip of the show playing out on his TV screen to his Instagram story, Chris, who dated Jesy for over a year, told fans: ‘Sick show this #LittleMixTheSearch.’

Love Island star Chris and Jesy split during lockdown in April, earlier this year, after 16-months together.

Reports at the time claimed the pair’s relationship had ‘run its course’, adding that Chris and Jesy – who previously planned to have three or four kids together – had come to a mutual agreement to separate.

Addressing their break up several months later in July, Chris said splitting with Jesy was the first time he had ever felt properly heartbroken, as he revealed he’s ‘finally feeling back to himself again’.

‘I don’t think I’d ever felt heartbreak or anything,’ Chris said while chatting with Vicky Pattison on her podcast The Secret To.

He said: ‘People can see it in your face. You can look sad in your face, without actually pulling a sad face, which I discovered… but everyone says, “you’re back to yourself, now,” it’s good.’

Chris had shut down the idea of dating again, as he told Vicky he felt ‘useless’ when it came to women.

The reality star joked: ‘I feel completely useless with women at the minute. I feel like I’ve been living through the stone age. When I get back into it… I’ll be alright. It’s like riding a bike, never forget. Blow away the cobwebs.’

But, both he and Jesy are thought to have moved on from their split, with Jesy now dating Our Girl star Sean Sagar and Chris reportedly dating model Mary Bedford.
