Cheryl is set for a return to the stage this weekend, just three weeks after her former Girls Aloud bandmate Sarah Harding died.

The 38-year-old singer is scheduled to perform at Birmingham Pride on Saturday and it’s reported that she has no plans to pull out of the gig.

The Fight For This Love singer has recently made her return to the music scene following a break after the birth of her son, Bear.

And now insiders have told The Sun that she will carry on with her plans despite Sarah’s heartbreaking death.

The insider said: “Cheryl will still headline this weekend as planned, despite her heartbreak.

“She is devastated by Sarah’s passing but also knows the last thing Sarah would have wanted was for her to let down their fans.”

Sarah died at the age 39 earlier in the month from breast cancer shortly after Cheryl had headlined the Mighty Hoopla Festival in South London.

Cheryl was joined on stage at the time by former bandmate Nicola Roberts.

Just days after the news broke, the Geordie star took to Instagram to pay her own tribute to Sarah.

She wrote in a touching message: “Although we knew this day would arrive, I am somehow still feeling at a loss for words that our stunning, unique, crazy, quirky, kind and soft-hearted girl has departed.

“I wanted to extend my condolences to all of our GA fans.”

It followed an array of other heartfelt tributes to the star, including from Nicola.

She described how her “heart is aching” following the news. “I’m absolutely devastated and I can’t accept that this day has come,” she said.

“My heart is aching and all day everything we went through together has raced round my mind.

“Especially this last year since her diagnosis, as hard as the year has been, our new memories are strong in my heart.

“There are so many things to say and at first it felt to personal to put them here and then I remembered that there are so many other people grieving her too.”

As well as her music comeback, Cheryl is set on doing the best she can for her four-year-old son and has apparently put any potentials romances on the backburner.

Earlier this month, an insider told OK! magazine that the Girls Aloud musician has no intentions of dating as the confident star “doesn’t need a man to feel happy”.

“Bear is Cheryl’s priority and that will always be the case,” the source said.

“But for the past four years, she’s taken a step back from performing and now feels ready to get back out there again. Being on stage makes her so happy and she’s keen to get her singing career back on track.”
