Chelsea have reportedly made an enquiry over the availability of Barcelona midfielder Miralem Pjanic as they look to bolster their options this summer.

The Blues booked their spot in the Champions League final by defeating Barcelona’s bitter rivals Real Madrid 3-1 on aggregate but are already preparing for a recruitment drive at the end of the season.

Chelsea chiefs will look to reward Thomas Tuchel’s remarkable start to life at Stamford Bridge by being proactive in the transfer market, with a new striker thought to be their top priority.

But according to Spanish outlet Sport, they have contacted Barcelona to see if Pjanic would be available to sign this summer.

Pjanic only joined Barcelona from Juventus in 2020 but has struggled to make his mark at the Camp Nou.

He has only started six times in La Liga this season and has been on the fringes since Ronald Koeman arrived at the club.

He has not started a game since February, when he was hooked off at half-time in a 3-0 league win over Elche.

Despite a lack of playing time, there is still a lot of interest in signing him.

Newly-crowned Serie A champions Inter Milan have also made an enquiry over his services

A loan move is thought to be the most likely avenue for the former Roma midfielder leaving the club.
