Chelsea have warned Real Madrid they won’t be bullied into selling Eden Hazard despite the eye-watering figures involved.

The La Liga giants are ready to make Hazard the second most expensive player in history with a £170m bid for the Belgian in the next week.

Hazard is keen on making his dream of moving to Madrid a reality this summer but Chelsea are in no rush to sell and believe they are in a strong position given the 27-year-old has two years to run on his deal at Stamford Bridge.

Madrid have money to spend after allowing Cristiano Ronaldo to move to Juventus for £99m but Chelsea have told Real that they will not be bullied into selling their star man, according to the Mirror.

In fact, Chelsea are focused on keeping Hazard at the club in the long-term and plan on sitting down with the winger on his return in two weeks’ time to discuss a new deal.

The Blues are confident that Hazard will sign new terms that make him the club’s highest paid player of all-time on £300,000-a-week.

Keeping Hazard is Sarri’s number one priority following his appointment at the club and the Italian is keen to work with the Belgian next season.

‘He’s one of the top European players,’ said Sarri.

‘I hope I can improve him but this will be difficult because he has reached a very high level.’
