The new Championship season is drawing closer, with the fixtures for 2021-22 released yesterday.
Despite there still being six weeks until the competition restarts, anticipation is already building.
The opening day fixtures threw up some intriguing ties. The one that really stands out is the clash between Bournemouth, who fell short in the play-offs last season, and newly-relegated West Bromwich Albion.
The Baggies will have a new man in the dugout, after Valerien Ismael was enticed from his post at Barnsley whilst the hosts could also be under new management if Scott Parker, as is widely expected, becomes the Cherries’ new boss.
Meanwhile, the bookmakers have been busy finalising their title odds.
And it will be of little surprise that the three sides who dropped down from the Premier League are favourites to go straight back up.
Albion and Fulham are both chalked up at 6/1 with BetVictory to win the Championship title next term, with Sheffield United not too far behind at 7/1.
Encouragement will have been taken from last season when Norwich and Watford both went back up automatically, whilst Bournemouth also made it a full house only to fall at the play-off hurdle.
Further down the listings, punters may fancy the likes of Swansea (14/1), QPR (20/1) or even a punt at the three highest-priced teams: Blackpool, Peterborough and Luton.
You can get odds of 66/1 on one of those three lifting the trophy come next May.
