Biggest losers included Trillium Therapeutics Inc (TSX:), which lost 6.00% or 1.16 points to trade at 18.16 in late trade. Aurinia Pharmaceuticals Inc (TSX:) declined 3.50% or 0.68 points to end at 18.75 and New Gold Inc (TSX:) shed 3.35% or 0.080 points to 2.310.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 597 to 454 and 111 ended unchanged on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.57% or 10.90 to $1905.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 4.57% or 1.77 to hit $36.95 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 4.52% or 1.85 to trade at $39.08 a barrel.
CAD/USD was down 0.13% to 0.7514, while CAD/EUR rose 0.19% to 0.6415.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 93.915.
