Call Of Duty Rambo and John McClane trailer shows off Nakatomi Plaza building

The Season Three Reloaded update for Call Of Duty has added not just two 80s action stars but a bunch of movie-inspired buildings.

The hints about Rambo and John McClane being added to Call Of Duty may have been the least subtle in gaming history but they’ve now got their own trailer and Die Hard fans in particular should be very happy.

Not only is Bruce Willis’ likeness in the game but so too is Nakatomi Plaza, which is being teleported into the 80s version of Verdansk and replaces the broadcast tower.

It becomes the tallest building on the map and includes five floors of office space based on the movie. It, and the other new additions, will arrive on May 20 but will only remain until June 19.

Nakatomi Plaza is filled with missions based on the movie, including defusing explosives on the roof and trying to break into the vault in the basement, which is neat.

Rambo doesn’t have any buildings that are quite so iconic associated with him, but the map will be dotted with several survival camps, that are meant to evoke Rambo: First Blood Part 2, where you can find loot and dog tags.

There’s also a new CIA outpost for agents to use to track down Rambo, although we confess it’s been long enough now that we don’t remember if that was in any of the films or not.

Activision are very keen to emphasise that these are not skins but completely unique operators, with their own finishing moves and custom weapons – including a bow and arrow for Rambo. The only problem is nobody’s said how much they’ll cost yet.

They’re not the only additions this week though, with a new 100-player game mode called Power Grab being added, which has a smaller circle barrier than normal battle royale and no gulag.

You can revive squad-mates by collecting dog tags though, as well as activate what are essentially scorestreaks. Dog tags can be collected by killing enemies, obviously, or you can get them from the survival camps.

Other extras promised for the rest of Season Three include a baseball bat and AMP63 pistol, but whether this sudden interest in licensed characters will continue is currently a mystery.
