Ahead of Saturday’s Lagos-East Bye-election, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Youths Organising Secretary, Idris Aregbe, has said Lagosians stand to benefit if they elect Tokunbo Abiru.

Aregbe said voting the APC candidate would give the state another strong voice in the upper chamber.

He said his conviction of the party’s senatorial candidate was outcome of his findings that Abiru, a financial expert, had been contributing to development of the state while in the private sector.

Aregbe, in a statement, stated that Abiru, the immediate past Chief Executive Officer of Polaris Bank and brain behind its remodeling and stabilisation, was seeking the office to ensure quality representation for Lagosians at the National Assembly.

“Aside from quality representation, Abiru will attract Federal Government attention to the plights of Lagos residents which the late senator Sikiru Osinowo started. This is required for development of the state and Abiru has the zeal to sustain it,” he said.

According to him, his antecedent while serving as Commissioner for finance was exemplary and he was instrumental towards strengthening Lagos economy.

He said: “I implore all youths in Epe, Ikorodu, Kosofe, Somolu, Ibeju-Lekki and its environs and indeed all lovers of the youths to come out en-masse on December 5, to vote Tokunbo Abiru for the Lagos East Senatorial seat.

“He is passionate about people’s plight and that was why he decided to set up an endowment fund that will largely accommodate persons with special needs within the district and promote legislations and policies that will institutionalise the empowerment of every person with special needs in the country,” he said.
