Bukayo Saka has revealed that David Luiz is the player who has been the biggest help to his career at Arsenal.

The 20-year-old made his first-team breakthrough under Unai Emery but has gone on to establish himself as a key figure in Mikel Arteta’s side.

David Luiz, meanwhile, spent just two seasons at Arsenal after joining in an £8 million deal from Chelsea and was heavily criticised for his performances for the Gunners.

But Saka claims the Brazilian defender was a huge influence on Arsenal’s young players who were breaking through to the first-team squad.

‘I’ve had a lot of help from different players but I’d say probably the biggest impact is David Luiz who’s done the most for me in my career,’ Saka told LadBible.

‘To go into the first team is not always the easiest experience but I think if you asked this to all the young players at Arsenal [they would say] that David did so much.

‘He went out of his way to do a lot for us. Advice on and off the pitch. He was a really good guy.

‘There’s been loads of other players at Arsenal [who have helped] but I would say David.’

Saka also revealed that he used to ‘love’ keeping a close eye on Alexis Sanchez while he was rising up through Arsenal’s academy.

‘All time my favourite player is Thierry Henry,’ said Saka.

‘When I was in the academy and I was more close watching games I used to love Alexis Sanchez.

‘He was my favourite player, the play he played In just loved it, I still do.

‘When I was in the academy I tried to wear the same boots as him and stuff like that. I tried to do a lot of stuff he did.’
