Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes was full of praise for team-mate Eric Bailly after his side’s win against Wolves.

Marcus Rashford scored in the 94th minute to give United a vital three points at Old Trafford and to ensure the club end 2020 in second place behind rivals Liverpool.

United had an extra day’s rest on a depleted Wolves side but the visitors had the clearer opportunities at Old Trafford and could have nicked all three points with better finishing.

Bailly started the Boxing Day draw against Leicester City after Victor Lindelof deputised at right-back for Aaron Wan-Bissaka and injury to the Swede before last night allowed the Ivorian to continue in the heart of defence alongside Harry Maguire.

The former Villarreal man has struggled with injury throughout his four years at Old Trafford but there’s no doubting his ability.

And Fernandes clearly agrees as the Portuguese midfielder commented on Instagram to reveal Bailly was his Man of the Match.

‘My man of the match,’ Fernandes wrote on Bailly’s Instagram post.

The Portuguese midfielder accompanied it with a love heart emoji, while midfielder Scott McTominay replied to applaud Bailly’s performance.

Bailly will be hoping to keep his place as United host high-flying Aston Villa at the Theatre of Dreams on New Year’s Day.
