Britney Spears calls out Christina Aguilera for 'refusing to speak about Conservatorship'

Britney Spears has called out former childhood friend Christina Aguilera after the star refused to speak about her Conservatorship.

The popstar , 39, who is now ‘free’ after a 13-year conservatorship which she brands ‘abusive’ hit out at Christina after she stayed silent during an interview.

The Dirty singer was attending the Latin Grammy Awards when a journalist asked if she had been in contact with Britney since the news of the termination.

The singer turned around and looked at her rep who then said there would be no comment.

Christina added: “I’m happy for her.”

Britney shared the video online and wrote angrily: “I love and adore everyone who appreciated me… but refusing to speak when you know the truth, is equivalent to a lie!!!

Britney expressed her upset with her former friend

“13 years being in a corrupt abusive system yet why is it such a hard topic for people to talk about??

“I’m the one who went through it!!!!

“All the supporters who spoke up and supported me thank you!”

And she added: “Yes I do matter!!!”

Christina Aguilera attended The 22nd Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards and refused to speak about Britney

Fans agreed with Britney saying: “Power to Britney! I’m so glad she publicly called her out.”

Christina has however spoken out before about Britney’s situation ahead of the hearings and said at the time: “To be silenced, ignored, bullied or denied support by those ‘close’ to you is the most depleting, devastating and demeaning thing imaginable. The harmful mental and emotional damage this can take on a human spirit is nothing to be taken lightly.

“Every woman must have the right to her own body, her own reproductive system, her own privacy, her own space, her own healing and her own happiness.”

She added at the time: “While I am not behind the closed doors of this very layered & personal yet public conversation – all I can do is share from my heart on what I’ve heard, read and seen in the media.

“The conviction and desperation of this plea for freedom leads me to believe that this person I once knew has been living without compassion or decency from those in control.”

“To a woman who has worked under conditions and pressure unimaginable to most, I promise you she deserves all of the freedom possible to live her happiest life.

“My heart goes out to Britney. She deserves all the TRUE love and support in the world.”

Britney clearly was unhappy by Christina’s new silence on the matter but we’ll wait to see what happens next.

Meantime the Toxic singer praised Lady Gaga for her support, after Gaga spoke at a House of Gucci premiere this month saying: “The way that she was treated in this business was really wrong and the way that women are treated in the music industry is something that I wish would change.”

She also said Britney will “forever be an inspiration to women.”

Britney wrote: “Thank you Lady Gaga for genuinely taking your time to say something so kind. You made me cry!!! I love you!!!”
