Britney Spears’ dad allegedly shouted “I am Britney Spears” as he took control of the pop star’s life after she was taken to a psychiatric ward for mental health evaluations in 2008
Britney Spears was labelled “fat,” a “w***e” and a “terrible mother” shortly after her conservatorship began, according to a close family friend.
He was also allegedly heard to scream “I am Britney Spears” because of how much control he had.
The shocking claims were made by family friend Jacqueline Butcher to The New Yorker on Saturday.
The publication reported how Jamie Spears shocked those around the family by masterminding Britney’s life after she was taken to a psychiatric ward for mental health evaluations in 2008.
And Jacqueline told the publication: “Jamie said, ‘Baby’ … and I thought he was going to say, ‘We love you, but you need help’.
“But what he said was, ‘You’re fat. Daddy’s gonna get you on a diet and a trainer, and you’re gonna get back in shape’.”
Jacqueline admitted that the alleged comments left her feeling sick.

Jamie, now 68, was trying to finalise the singer’s return to showbiz by getting her a guest appearance on hit sitcom How I Met Your Mother.
Jacqueline recalled how Jamie would point to the TV and tell the now 39-year-old that she would be reported as being “back” in the news soon enough.
However, the family friend alleged that Britney’s dad was far from the supportive figure she needed at the time.
Jacqueline insisted that he would wear his daughter down with abuse instead.
“He would get all in her face — spittle was flying — telling her she was a w***e and a terrible mother,” Jacqueline commented to Jia Tolentino and Ronan Farrow for the publication.
Jamie would apparently go on to tell the Toxic singer that the only way she would see her kids was if she followed his orders.
Britney’s mum, Lynne, supposedly told her to “obey Daddy” to ensure she was allowed out.

Lynne, who divorced Jamie in 2002, only agreed to the conservatorship as she believed it would only last months and allowed Jamie to be in control so Britney resented him instead of her, according to Jacqueline.
Also talking to the New Yorker for its in-depth article, Lynne said: “I got mixed feelings about everything. I don’t know what to think. … It’s a lot of pain, a lot of worry. I’m good. I’m good at deflecting.”
Britney’s attempt to cut her dad from her conservatorship was denied by an LA judge last week.
The singer had provided an emotional statement on June 23 describing how she was forced into touring and felt intimidated by her father.
