Graham Potter wouldn’t take the Tottenham job as he is holding out for an opportunity to manage a top-four club, according to reports.

Spurs sacked Jose Mourinho in April after just 17 months in charge and are yet to appoint his successor at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Sevilla boss Julen Lopetegui is the latest to have rejected the role, while talks with Antonio Conte, Gennaro Gattuso and Paulo Fonseca have also all broken down.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy was keen on reappointing Mauricio Pochettino, but the Argentine will remain at Paris Saint-Germain.

Potter is another who has been linked, but according to The Sun, he would reject the chance to take over at the north London club.

The report states that the 46-year-old would only entertain the idea of leaving Brighton if a top-four club came calling.

Due to his current contract with the Seagulls running until 2025, it would cost £15million in competition to lure Potter away.

Former Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo is now thought to be the frontrunner for the Tottenham job.

The Portuguese boss left his role at Molineux at the end of last season and looked set to take over at Crystal Palace until the Eagles pulled the plug.
