A government source has told the BBC there will be “no deal tonight”, as officials continue to work on the technical details of a potential Brexit agreement.

The BBC’s political editor, Laura Kuenssberg, said it was not clear if there was a chance of a deal this week or not.

The two sides had been hoping to sign off a deal before Thursday’s crunch EU council meeting.
