Erling Haaland says he has ‘big dreams’ for the future but intends to be ‘respectful’ towards his Borussia Dortmund contract, with a flurry of offers expected for the striker this summer.

The sought-after 20-year-old has scored 57 goals in 59 games across his one-and-a-half year spell at the Westfalenstadion and was named Bundesliga Player of the Year for his outstanding performances over the last season.

Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona are all said to be plotting moves for the Norway sensation but Dortmund have repeatedly stressed that he is not for sale and will be staying put.

BVB had at one stage looked in serious danger of missing out on Champions League qualification which may have had a major impact on Haaland’s mindset ahead of the summer transfer window.

But Edin Terzic went on to steer his side to a third-placed finish in the German top flight and secured silverware in the shape of the DFB-Pokal trophy which Haaland admits was ‘important’ and came as a ‘relief’.

‘Like I have said before, I am a big fan of the Champions League and I think everyone knows that,’ the young forward told Viaplay Fotball.

‘It was a relief to secure that spot. It was really important.’

Asked for his reaction Dortmund’s insistence that he will be staying, Haaland replied: ‘Well I have a contract for a couple of years so I am respectful towards my contract.’

Haaland’s first major trophy win has only made him hungrier for further success down the line.

‘I am a simple guy, when I like something I just want to have more,’ the ex-Molde and Salzburg star added.

‘Like I have said before, when I score a goal I always chase the next goal. I have big dreams!

‘I just won my first major trophy and it was a great feeling so I want to win trophies.’

Haaland put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half year contract when he joined Dortmund, which sees him through to 2024.

However, there are reports of €75m (£66m) release clause in his current deal which is set to come into effect at the end of next season.
