Borussia Dortmund have set an eye-watering €180million asking price for Erling Haaland as he continues to be linked with Manchester United, Chelsea and Real Madrid.

Despite only being 20, Haaland is already considered one of the best players in Europe, having scored an impressive 49 goals in 49 matches for German club Dortmund.

Premier League rivals Man United and Chelsea – and Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid and Barcelona – have all expressed interest in signing Haaland, but the Norway striker will cost more than £150m this summer, according to ESPN FC.

The likes of Manchester City and Bayern Munich have also been tentatively linked with moves for Haaland but it remains to be seen which – if any – clubs will be willing to meet Dortmund’s valuation.

Haaland netted 27 goals in 29 matches for Red Bull Salzburg before his move to the Bundesliga and is being linked with another move following a sensational campaign for Dortmund.

Despite Haaland’s performances, Borussia Dortmund have struggled in the Bundesliga this season, drawing and losing as many matches as they have won to slip to fifth in the table, 18 points behind leaders Bayern Munich.

Dortmund have at least impressed in Europe and beat Sevilla 5-4 on aggregate in the last-16 stage of the Champions League to set up a quarter-final clash against Premier League champions-elect Manchester City.

Haaland was asked about the speculation over his future last week and said: ‘I still have three years of contract [at Dortmund]. I am not worried about that.’

Manchester United are searching for their long-term centre forward, with Edinson Cavani edging towards an exit from Old Trafford this summer.

Chelsea are also considering bolstering Thomas Tuchel’s attacking options, with Timo Werner struggling in his first season in the Premier League.

Speaking last month, Rio Ferdinand insisted Manchester United should ‘give everything’ to beat their domestic and European rivals to Haaland.

He told the FIVE YouTube channel: ‘They have got to go out and give everything they have got to get Haaland.

‘I don’t like to talk about players that come from other teams but this guy, we [United] can’t afford to let this guy go anywhere else. His only destination is England.

‘It’s the only place he is going. If he goes anywhere else I will be so surprised. He obviously loves English football, his dad played here.

‘It’s one of his dreams to come and play in England, I’m sure. Why not in the red shirt at Old Trafford. Be the guy that brings trophies back to Old Trafford.’
