Borussia Dortmund have identified two possible replacements for Jadon Sancho as they prepare for Manchester United to finally complete a deal for the winger.

The Red Devils have had one bid rejected fir Sancho and one is still under consideration, according to Sky Sports, but there is confidence on both sides that a deal will be done.

United’s first offer of around £75m, with £67m up front, was rejected by the German club, while the second bid remains at £75m but with more up front and with ‘achievable add-ons’ based on appearances and goals, report Sky Sports.

Dortmund want £82m for the England international, with the vast majority of the fee received immediately, but with a relatively small difference between the latest bid and the asking price, a deal is looking more likely than not, especially due to the ‘gentleman’s agreement’ that has been mentioned.

Michael Zorc, Dortmund’s sporting director, said there has been a gentleman’s agreement between the club and Sancho that says he can leave ‘under certain conditions’ which were nearly met by United last season, but the Red Devils fell short.

‘We already had a gentlemen’s agreement with Jadon last year that he can switch under certain conditions,’ said Zorc.

‘He’s been with us for a couple of years. However, this agreement does not exist with Erling [Haaland].’

Dortmund are eyeing two PSV Eindhoven players as possible replacements for Sancho: Donyell Malen and Noni Madueke.

Malen is a 22-year-old forward who spent time with Arsenal as a teenager, appearing in a first team freindly in 2017 before leaving for PSV the same year.

He has since made 116 appearances for the Dutch side in all appearances, scoring 55 goals.

Madueke, like Sancho, is another English star making his name on the continent, after leaving his native London to move from Tottenham to PSV in 2019.

The 19-year-old has played 35 times for the first team at PSV, netting nine times.
