While hot days in the UK can be sticky, sweaty and uncomfortable, spare a thought for the nation’s furry canines.

Thankfully, B&M is selling an item designed to help pooches cool off on balmy days… a doggy paddling pool.

The £10 product is a little different to the inflatable pools designed for humans. Instead, the dog paddling pool is made from robust PVC – so there’s no need to worry about claws scratching holes in it.

The pet pool – which comes in at 80cm wide and 20cm high – also doubles up as an outdoor bath on colder days.

B&M has listed the pet pool on its website, but currently there’s no option to buy online – so customers will have to make their way to a store to pick one up.

While the B&M dog pool is certainly one of the cheaper ones on the market, there’s a whole host of other products to choose from.

Amazon is also selling a foldable pet pool for £44.99 and, if the reviews are anything to go by, customers won’t be left disappointed.

One commented: ‘Our collies have enjoyed playing in here in the recent warm weather – so far it has stood up very well to three enthusiastic dogs, and is really practical in terms of being able to store it in a small bag and empty the water out easily when not in use.

‘Despite their jumping around playing, none of the dogs have slipped at all which is fantastic as I wasn’t sure how slippery it would be.’

Pets at Home also has its own version with a spring steel frame which pops up and down for easy use. Although one reviewer pointed out that the frame didn’t hold up well with their enthusiastic dog.
