Bernd Leno believes his Arsenal teammate Bukayo Saka can become a world class player, with his ‘unusual’ mentality a standout quality for such a young player.

The 19-year-old burst onto the scene last season and has firmly established himself as a key part of the Gunners squad this campaign.

Having proved his versatility by playing on both wings and at left-back, Saka has made 25 starts in the Premier League this season, scoring five goals.

He does not turn 20 until next season and Leno believes not just his talent, but also his leadership qualities are what sets him apart from his contemporaries.

The Arsenal goalkeeper says Saka is already achieving great things, but expects him to reach the absolute summit of the game.

‘His performances were incredible,’ Leno said of Saka. ‘He’s a top player he has a top mentality which is very unusual for a young player like him, he’s very professional.

‘He feels like he’s older than he really is ,he’s almost leading the team which is a very good sign.

‘I’m pretty sure he will become a world class player and we are very happy to have him.

‘This season I don’t know if he’s the best player in the team but certainly one of the best players.’

Saka was a doubt for Arsenal’s crucial trip to Slavia Prague in the Europa League on Thursday due to a hip injury, but he has been passed fit to play.

The teenager limped out of the 3-0 win over Sheffield United at the weekend and was a concern, but has returned to full training this week.

Arsenal have a tricky task ahead of them in the Czech Republic after a 1-1 draw in the first leg in London as they look to avoid becoming the third British side to fall at the hands of Slavia Prague, who have already seen off Leicester and Rangers.

Emile Smith Rowe is also fit for the second leg, but doubts remain over Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Martin Odegaard due to illness and an ankle problem respectively.
