Bella Hadid makes 600-tree donation to offset constant flying: ‘It makes me sad how much my job effects my carbon footprint’
Bella Hadid has made a donation so 600 trees will be planted in an effort to counterbalance the environmental impact of the many flights she takes crisscrossing the globe in her modeling career.
‘Donating 600 trees to be planted … 20 for each flight I took these past 3 months and probably will continue for the rest of the year,’ Hadid, 23, said in an Instagram post accompanied by art, and screengrabs of the donation she made.
They included the planting in California of 280 trees and in the Amazon, another 320 trees, recommending the nonprofit One Tree Planted as ‘the easiest website [she’s] found to donate to multiple regions at the same time.’

The 5ft9 model said she was upset at the negative impact on the environment left by the ongoing flights she must take for her outings on the catwalk.
‘It makes me sad how much my job effects my carbon footprint and of how brutally climate change is obviously effecting the world,’ the Washington, D.C.-born beauty said.
Bella, who’s sister to models Gigi, 24, and Anwar Hadid, 20, said that ‘Mother Nature needs some love,’ and that she was focusing her first round of donations toward areas ravaged by wildfire: California and the Amazon rainforest.
The supermodel encouraged her 26.8 million-plus followers to reach out and let her know other global locations that need to be ‘shown some love as well.

‘This is so exciting and interesting to me, that even though I’m not physically there, trees are being brought to life in the most incredible places that are in demand of them!’ she wrote. ‘It’s the air we breathe, the water we drink, the biodiversity and animal life we need.’
The model, whose parents are former Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Foster and real estate developer Mohamed Hadid, opened up about her more pensive moments observing the world and everything in it.
‘I know it’s not much , but when I fly, I look out the window and see so many beautiful, extensive forests, so much land and trees but also so much that needs lots of help.. think about the animals too anyways,’ she said.
She said that when she returns to her Los Angeles home base, she’s ‘definitely planting [her] own tree outside.’
