BBC BIAS: Viewers fuming at pro-Corbyn audience – ‘Another paid question!’

Several users on Twitter accused the BBC of giving the Labour leader an “easy ride” during Mr Corbyn’s appearance on BBC Question Time in Sheffield. One furious user wrote on Twitter: “#bbcqt another paid question.” A second user said: “What a stitch-up, never seen so many planted ‘guests’ #bbcqt”

A third user said: “How is this #bbcqt audience balanced? Is it leave/remain split?

“And how many of the members of the public are actually political activists?

A fourth user said: “Really disappointed at the quality of questions being asked by the audience.

“Mr Corbyn getting an easy ride #bbcqt.”

A fifth user said: “#bbcqt should be renamed abour time. This audience isn’t balanced.”

The BBC state in its editorial guidelines it is “committed to achieving due impartiality in all its output”.

During the broadcast one audience member outright defended the Labour leader’s controversial “neutral” stance on Brexit and insisted Mr Corbyn is the only leader with a “clear position”.

The pro-Corbyn audience member said during the show: “I mean this thing about saying that oh lots of people are groaning because he is saying that he is not going to take a clear position, there is actually a precedence for this.

The pro-Corbyn audience member said during the show: “I mean this thing about saying that oh lots of people are groaning because he is saying that he is not going to take a clear position, there is actually a precedence for this.

“When there is a referendum on Europe in the 1970s Harold Wilson remained neutral, okay so for people to say oh this is ridiculous that he is not taking a position, its false, its a false position.

“The Liberal Democrats are saying reverse Brexit stop Brexit , Boris Johnson is saying get Brexit done, the only person that actually has a clear strategy and grown-up sensible strategy is this man right here, Jeremy Corbyn.”

Host Fiona Bruce then correctly the gentleman and insisted former Prime Minister Harold Wilson was in favour of leaving the European Union but allowed a free vote during the referendum.

During the 30 minutes Mr Corbyn was onstage he was again given huge praise from another audience member who stated the Labour Party was the only party “developing a credible set of policies”.

She said: “Mr Corbyn, I appreciate your efforts in bringing people together in this country.

“I understand your strategy, what I am really interested in is that the Labour Party seems to be the only party which is developing a credible set of policies to deal with climate emergency.

“Could you enlighten us about what you think your Labour Party policies would do for jobs and for a good future for young people in Sheffield.”

Express.co.uk has contacted the BBC for further comment.

This is a developing story, more to follow.
