Ashley Cain says heart is 'torn into pieces' over daughter's leukaemia battle

Ashley Cain said his heart was ‘torn into pieces’ but he was still holding out hope as he gave an update on his baby daughter’s leukaemia battle.

The reality star spoke out after crying as she shared how seven-month-old Azaylia had relapsed.

Azaylia was diagnosed with a rare form of leukaemia after her birth in August and has been in and out of hospital ever since.

Ashley has been by his daughter’s side throughout the ordeal and together with partner Safiyya has spent nights in hospital with the youngster this week.

In his latest post, the 30-year-old dad admitted to his followers that there are ‘very few options’ left for Azaylia to beat the illness.

Sharing a sweet picture of the little one wearing an adorable pink hat and a tube in her nose, Ashley shared: “Today has been one of the most difficult days of my life. I feel like my heart is being torn to pieces.

“But as I’m staring over at my little baby girl in her cot from my hospital bed, I see hope.

“Hope that I will hang onto, hold tight and use to fight every inch and every second of this fight!”

The dad also shared an emotional poem a fan had written for Azaylia as she continues to fight.

The toddler has already undergone a bone marrow transplant, which proved ineffective – leaving her parents in turmoil.

Azylia was readmitted to hospital when the results came back, leading to dad Ashley to break down in tears in an emotional Instagram video.

He wept as he told how partner Safiyya was staying with their daughter in hospital.

“I’m at home now, Saf’s doing the first night at hospital and I’m at home tonight, it’s crazy how lonely it feels here.

“I’m gutted, I’m heartbroken, I can’t believe it. I can’t believe it.

“Looking at her, she’s so strong, so full of life, developing so well, and despite all the odds… She’s got through every round of treatment so far.

“It’s just she has this monster of a disease that’s proving difficult to get rid of. But in herself, she’s so good and so healthy.”
