Diversity star Ashley Banjo took time out with his children this week after sharing horrific messages of abuse he’s received over his controversial Britain’s Got Talent performance.

The Dancing On Ice judge shared an adorable photo of him posing beside his children in their pushchairs during an afternoon outing on Monday.

In the caption, he took the opportunity to troll the racists themselves by highlighting the difference in his children’s skin complexions.

‘There’s been a lot of negativity recently so I thought I’d lighten the mood with a picture of me completing some dad duties,’ he said.

‘One child is brown and one is white … That should confuse the racists 👀😂 #diversity #family,’ the dancer added.

Ashley shares daughter Rose, one, and six-month-old son Micah with wife Francesca Abbott.

Hours before, the dancer shared a few of the nasty messages he’s been bombarded with from trolls, who are furious over Diversity’s performance inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement on BGT earlier this month.

‘The TV watchdog received more than 15,000 complaints – breaking a 2020 record.

Addressing the controversy, Ashley said in an Instagram video over the weekend: ‘A lot of negativity thrown at the performance, but trust me, I am right in the centre of it and the negativity is the minority.

‘The positive response has been huge, so thank you so much to everyone who has supported, shown love and stood by what we did. We are feeling positive, proud, happy, confident and we stand by every single decision we made with that performance.’

The 31-year-old continued: ‘Racial abuse to threats, to just some really nasty stuff.

‘I am not going to give it any more time than it deserves, all of the nastiness and the racism shows exactly why this performance was needed and exactly why this conversation has now arisen from it.

‘Racism is very real, especially after this performance.’

Ashley returned to BGT last weekend in a pre-recorded show, which saw him walk out onto the stage to Elton John’s I’m Still Standing, a coincidental yet apt choice of song.
