Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has heaped praise on the ‘humility’ of Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane.

The 47-year-old is the only coach to win the Champions League three seasons in a row, and despite his success on and off the pitch, Gunners legend Wenger rates Zidane’s modesty above all.

He told beIN Sports: ‘Zidane was touched by angels in his bed when he was a kid and everything he does is successful.

‘What I admire with him is that he has kept humility during his career and after now as well as a coach.

‘He never teaches lessons to people, his feet are on the ground and you have to respect the man he is more than all the rest.

‘In football you win and you lose, but the man is always there and I think he’s been a great example on that front.’

Zidane ended his playing career at the Bernabeu, making 155 appearances in a five-year spell in Spain.

During his first stint in management for Madrid, the Frenchman won La Liga and three Champions League trophies, becoming the only manager to win the competition back-to-back.

After two years at his old club, Zidane resigned in 2018, but was asked back less than a year later after the club sacked his former teammate Santiago Solari.
