Arteta invites Wenger to return to Arsenal in some capacity

Merson reveals Arsenal concern

Former Arsenal player Paul Merson is concerned the current team are “flat-track bullies.”

While the Gunners have dispatched of a lot of teams from the middle and lower reaches of the Premier League this season, in matches against Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool they’ve been emphatically beaten.

The team has made some strides this season, but Merson is concerned about the way Arteta’s squad folds against real quality.

“They proved that they’re flat-track bullies last weekend,” he said. “They’ve played a game apiece against the top three and they’ve been completely and utterly blown away this season.

“It is a worrying sign, but they have been winning games that they are expected to win.”
