Arsenal’s hopes of selling Hector Bellerin on deadline day are under severe threat from their north London rivals Tottenham, according to reports in Spain.

Bellerin has made it clear to Arsenal that he wants to leave this summer, with the Gunners willing to sanction a move if an acceptable bid is made.

It is being widely reported that Spanish club Real Betis are willing to take the Spaniard on a season-long loan deal, but they also have other options including Tottenham outcast Serge Aurier, according to AS.

With Betis midfielder William Carvalho refusing to leave the club this summer, it seems unlikely that the Spanish giants are able to free up enough money to fund any deal for Bellerin.

Spurs are hopeful of completing a deal for former Betis defender Emerson Royal on Tuesday, who rejoined his former club Barcelona in the summer, in a transfer which could be worth up to £25m.

Betis are reportedly set to receive £5m from the Emerson deal, while a move for Ivory Coast International Aurier, who only has one year left on his contract at Spurs, would set them back the same amount.

Emerson also attracted interest from north London rivals Arsenal, but reports suggest he prefers a move to Spurs.

If the move goes through, it would be a massive blow for Arsenal who were hopeful of selling Bellerin before Tuesday’s deadline.

The Gunners also want to sell outcasts Reiss Nelson, who looks like to leave on a season-long loan to Dutch giants Feyenoord, Eddie Nketiah and Alex Runarsson before the window slams shut.

Meanwhile Tottenham will be quietly confident with their business this summer after finding themselves top of the Premier League table after three matches.
