Arsenal urged to get rid of 'lazy' captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Arsenal have been urged to sell Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang due to his “laziness” and “disgusting” work ethic.

Former Republic of Ireland and Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino has launched a verbal tirade at the Gunners captain despite the forward playing a key role in the win over West Ham on Monday night.

Second-half goals from Gabriel Martinelli, Nicolas Pepe and Aubameyang ensured an abysmal opening 45 minutes was a distant memory at full time with the Gunners moving up to ninth with the 3-1 victory.

Aubameyang now sits joint-second in the Premier League scoring charts with 11 goals, while he was recently appointed permanent captain following Granit Xhaka’s public falling out with the Emirates fans.

But Cascarino has launched an astonishing verbal attack on the former Borussia Dortmund star and says he should be sold along with Mesut Ozil.

“Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored last night but he really hurts Arsenal with his poor attitude,” he told TalkSport .

“People talk about his goalscoring record – and it is very good – but he needs to be a team player. Last night he was just letting opposing defenders head the ball away without even making a challenge.

“Along with Mesut Ozil, he is the laziest player in the side. His work ethic for a senior player is bordering on disgusting.
