Arsenal got their 2020/21 Premier League campaign off to the perfect start with a 3-0 win over Fulham, and behind the scenes work continues to bring in players to improve Mikel Arteta’s side.
Arteta, having had his role changed to first-team manager this week, will be keen to add talent across his squad, as well as unloading several players who don’t appear to have a role in the Spaniard’s plans.
New signings Gabriel and Willian made their debuts against Fulham on Saturday, while William Saliba was included on the bench. However, with several areas in need of strengthening throughout the squad, Arteta will want to continue his summer recruitment.
There is also a slew of potential departures. Arsenal have a bloated squad that needs to be cut down, with the club hoping to streamline their finances.
Here is the latest Arsenal transfer round-up with a trio of possible exits discussed.
Barcelona considering Bellerin loan bid
Amid reports that Hector Bellerin could leave Arsenal this summer as the club attempts to raise funds for potential signings, Barcelona are considering a loan offer for the Spanish right-back.
According to Marca, via Sports Mole, Ronald Koeman, who took charge at the Nou Camp earlier this summer, is keen to add several signings to his squad. But with finances tight, Barcelona are having to manage their spending.
As such, the Catalan giants are considering making a loan bid for Bellerin, who could return to the club where he spent his formative years before leaving for Arsenal.
Maitland-Niles could still leave Arsenal
Maitland-Niles was expected to leave Arsenal earlier in the summer in search of regular first-team football.
Arteta wants to keep Maitland-Niles, who started in the win over Fulham, at the club.
However, the versatile midfielder is still considering a move away in the hope he can lock down a starting role and earn a place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad ahead of next summer’s European Championships.
Per the Daily Mail, the 23-year-old is agonising over whether to remain at Arsenal or push for an exit.
Maitland-Niles joined Arsenal at six years old and would find it difficult to leave, per the report, but after making his international debut against Denmark last week, knows that it might be necessary to keep his England dreams alive.

After being jettisoned from the first-team squad in the final weeks of last season, Matteo Guendouzi was again absent from Arsenal’s squad for the clash at Fulham.
It was expected the young Frenchman would depart this summer with Arteta having washed his hands of the midfielder, but a sale is proving difficult as the Gunners hold out for either £35 million or a player-swap deal for the right target.
Per ESPN, Arsenal are “actively looking for a buyer” for Guendouzi. However, the 21-year-old has already rejected approaches from Valencia and Atalanta, as well as his former manager Unai Emery at Villarreal.
Sevilla sporting director Monchi is keen on Guendouzi, while Paris Saint-Germain are said to be interested, too, though the £35 million valuation is a stumbling block.
