Arsenal transfer news LIVE: Lacazette looking at January exit, Pablo Mari Flamengo return, Xhaka wants Gladbach move

Arsenal expect to discover today how bad goal hero Bukayo Saka’s hip injury is.

Saka fired a sublime 56th minute opener before his replacement Gabriel Martinelli volleyed a brilliant clincher as the Gunners beat bottom side Newcastle to go fifth.

But the winger will have scans on the injury after manager Mikel Arteta said he took Saka off because he felt “uncomfortable”.

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour had hailed Saka’s performance alongside his new England team-mate Emile Smith Rowe.

Parlour told talkSPORT: “Saka has been a revelation, he and Smith Rowe have been the main guys up front creating chances.

“The way he took his goal today, it was fantastic. His movement, his runs off the ball, he’s got so much intelligence. He really can play anywhere.”

But Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang produced an astonishing four-yard miss that left all-time great Gunners’ defender Tony Adams calling for the Gabon superstar to be dropped,

Adams believes Aubameyang should be used more carefully now he is 32.

The ex-Three Lions defender told Stadium Astro: “Arsene Wenger would have done. He would have looked after the physiology of his player.

“He’s getting on now, he’s a forward, he’s out of form goalscoring-wise.

“If you just want an out-and-out goalscorer (Alexandre) Lacazette is the man and he could quite easily do Aubameyang’s position with Martinelli backing him up.”

Meanwhile, Lacazette revealed his agents ‘are starting to look’ at transfer options with only seven months left on his contract.

He told Telefoot: “Of course, my agents are starting to look to the right and to the left. But not until January, I really want to focus myself on something.”

And striker Folarin Balogun is tipped for a January loan, with Middlesbrough leading the race ahead of St Etienne, Bournemouth and Swansea.
