Arsenal star Rob Holding's X-rated rant at Adama Traore picked up by microphones

Pitchside microphones picked up Rob Holding accusing Adama Traore of diving during Arsenal’s clash with Wolves.

As the Gunners trailed 2-1 heading into the last five minutes of the match, Traore won a free kick just inside his own half after a coming together with centre-back Holding.

The winger had enjoyed a fine game at the Emirates, playing a vital role in both of his side’s goals, but was booked early in the second half for simulation in the Arsenal box.

And Holding burst into an explicit rant after what he saw as another case of Traore going down too easily.

Holding was heard blasting the decision to award a free kick

Pitchside microphones heard the 25-year-old scream: “He’s built like a brick s***house, how’s he gone down like that!”

Holding then threw the ball back in Traore’s direction and was promptly shown a yellow card by referee Michael Oliver.

Traore, 24, provided the cross which led to Pedro Neto’s opening goal in the 27th minute before Arsenal equalised through Gabriel’s header on the half-hour mark.

The Spain international was on hand to help restore the lead just before half-time, as his sublime footwork in his own half launched the Wolves attack from which Daniel Podence scored.

The result lifts Wolves to sixth in the table, while Arsenal are 14th and youngster Joe Willock called on his side to bounce back “as quickly as possible”.

“It was very disappointing,” Willock told Arsenal’s official website.

“You never want to lose at the Emirates or in any game but I feel like in the first half it wasn’t good enough.

“We’re not playing well enough as a team at the moment and we need to stick together and bounce back from this very quickly.

“I don’t think it’s clicking enough and there’s not enough fluidity in the team. We need to sort this out as quickly as possible to fight for the position we want to fight for.”
