Arsenal have confirmed David Luiz is fit to play in Thursday night’s Europa League clash against Molde after recovering from a thigh injury.

The Brazilian was forced off the pitch in the 1-0 loss to Leicester City on October 25 and subsequently missed victories against Dundalk and Manchester United.

Mikel Arteta initially feared that Luiz would be out for ‘a few weeks’, but the club have stated that he is now back in first team training and available for selection.

In terms of the longer-term absentees, Pablo Mari’s return to full training has been pushed back until after the November international break.

But Calum Chambers, who ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament last December, is progressing towards full match fitness.

19-year-old Gabriel Martinelli is back integrating in group sessions, however, he remains unlikely to feature until 2021.

The Gunners will go into their match against Molde full of confidence after beating rivals United at Old Trafford for the first time in 14 years on Sunday.

Arteta’s side have the chance to make it three wins from three in their Europa League campaign after previous victories against Rapid Vienna and Dundalk.
